My name is Olivia O’Mahony, and words are my greatest passion. I’ve been writing and (and rewriting) since I could hold a pen.
After completing my international degree in English studies and anthropology, I began my professional training as a writer and copy editor fresh out of college, working as an intern with a top special interest magazine in New York City. From there, I eventually progressed to the role of the publication’s primary copy editor, and was soon trained into the world of social media management. Since then, I’ve worked on a large range of editorial projects, including blogs, feature pieces, travel writing, event writing, interviews, genealogical research pieces, and reviews. Businesses and organizations I’ve worked with include:
- Alice in Città
- Folklore Thursday
- Fyxes.com
- Heritage of Pride
- Irish America Magazine
- IrishCentral.com
- Martha McGinn Training and Consultation
- Shamrock Craic
- The Shamrock Gift Company
- Story Gem Copywriting
Additionally, I am a member in good standing with the International Association of Professional Writers and Editors.
Today, I remain based in New York, though I originally hail from Dublin, Ireland. Outside of Seabird Words, my interests include working on personal fiction projects, reading for pleasure, and folklore studies.
